Rainbows Programme

Rainbows program - supporting children and young people affected by loss because of bereavement, separation or divorce - Raphoe Pastoral Centre counselling service, Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland

... it doesn't need to hurt forever.

Rainbows Bereavement Care is a support programme for children/young people:
Rainbows offers a service for children from 6 - 13 years of age. Spectrum offers a service for teenagers.
When a family member dies or separation occurs, not only do the parents grieve, the children do also. However, children find it extremely difficult to verbalize their feelings because of their age and short life experience. For this reason they have sometimes been called "the forgotten grievers."

Rainbows is a 9 Week Support Programme which offers the children peer support, a warm relaxed atmosphere, trained caring adults, and the use of art and play, an opportunity for children to express their feelings. The next Rainbows programme commences: early 2025, please keep an eye for more details to follow.

This programme is free for all.

To reserve a place and receive an application form please contact the Pastoral Centre: 074 9121853 or email pastoralcentre@raphoediocese.ie (we are currently taking names for a future programme date, we will comprise a waiting list and will be in touch as soon as a date is set to run the programme)
